Big Sur headlands dropping into the Pacific Ocean at golden hour

Aster Houseabove the Pacific

A boutique coastal retreat of twenty-two rooms, held between cypress and open ocean. A restaurant, wellness treatments and private walking trails, all of it on the property, none of it in a hurry.

01, Arrival

Small on purpose.
Open to the weather.

Aster House sits on the Big Sur coast with twenty-two rooms and nothing else competing for the view. The scale is deliberate: few enough rooms that the house learns your name, enough space that you can spend a day without meeting anyone at all.

Every room looks to the Pacific. The restaurant, the treatment rooms and the walking trails are all on the property, so an entire stay can happen without a car key. Fog comes in by afternoon and leaves by morning, and the house is built to be good on both kinds of day.

02, Rooms

Rooms that face the water

01

Twenty-two rooms

The whole house, counted. No wings, no towers, no room numbers you have to hunt for.

02

Pacific views

Every room is oriented to the ocean. The horizon is the first thing you see and the last thing you lose.

03

Quiet by design

Rooms are spaced for stillness, so the loudest thing you hear is the water moving below the headland.

03, The Table

Dinner is downstairs.

The restaurant is part of the house, not an amenity bolted onto it. You can come down from your room and be at the table in a minute, which on this stretch of coast is a rarer thing than it sounds.

Guests dine with us as part of their stay; our team will talk you through the evening when you enquire.

04, Wellness

Treatments, kept unhurried

Wellness treatments are available on site, arranged around your stay rather than around a schedule. Tell us what you would like when you enquire and we will set it against the right part of your day, before the fog, or after the walk.

05, Trails

Private paths,
straight from the door

The property holds its own walking trails, kept for guests. Step out before breakfast and the coast is yours: scrub, wind-bent cypress, the Pacific working away below. No trailhead parking, no shuttle, no timing your day around anybody else.

06, Book direct

Speak to the house, not a platform

With twenty-two rooms, every enquiry reaches a person who knows the building. Booking with us directly means your room, your table and your treatments are arranged by the same team, and anything you ask for is answered by them, not relayed.
